Overview
The future energy system in the Alpine region relies on sustainable low carbon energy planning in order to mitigate climate change. However, managing the transition to sustainable energy plans holds many challenges for all governance levels. That is why the interdisciplinary project team of IMEAS developed a methodology and practical guidance for the creation and integration of roadmaps based on multi-level approaches connecting actors from different economic sectors, governance levels, territories and countries. IMEAS created the online platform www.imeas.eu to share tools and experience to support successful low-carbon energy transition strategies. This can help to make the Alpine Space an exemplary model for energy efficiency and renewable energy in the European Union.

IMEAS Whitebook
StrategyThis publication is a guide to drive policy makers, research bodies, private and public organizations to implement actions and policies related to the energy transition. This publication aims to be a guide to drive policy makers, research bodies, private and public organizations, to understand the joint mechanisms that occur among actors in a multi-level dimension of governance, to implement actions and policies related to the energy transition. In times of large opportunities made possible by advanced and cheaper technology solutions, the innovation stream is usually blocked by non-technological problems such as missing incentive alignments and poor information flow amongst actors. In fact, these actors cannot make a difference if policies or strategies are fragmented at different institutional levels of implementation or if the objectives are not harmonized - or even missing - at some levels and in case of lack of communication among actors. The document describes the engagement and stakeholder analysis methodology developed and used in the IMEAS project, starting from low-carbon real initiatives identified and developed within the Alpine Space by each organization involved in the partnership. -
IMEAS Web platform - Introduction
StrategyThis document is a short presentation on the features offered by the IMEAS web Platform. The IMEAS web Platform, one of the project’s main outputs, is intended to be a toolkit with easy-to-use documentation, reference and innovation examples from project partners and other contributors. It is a community of people and institutions sharing tools and experiences to: • connect communities and their values; • foster cooperation and knowledge exchange among different players; • share with a wide audience guidelines, tools, and concrete practices; • set people into motion and find multidimensional and cooperative approaches. -
