“Never let a good energy crisis go to waste”!
(adapted from Winston Churchill)
The price crisis, signs of climate change, and threats to energy security urge us to act like never before. REPowerEU plan reflects this urgency and provides new momentum for the energy transition. In 2023, the World Sustainable Energy Days showed the critical role of the energy transition in securing our clean energy future and concrete policies, technologies and markets to get us there. The annual conference is a leading event on the energy transition and climate neutrality with over 650 participants from over 60 countries.
This year the conference took place from the 28th of February to the 3rd of March 2023 at the Stadthalle of Wels, in Austria, involving a wide range of actors engaged in the energy transition from different points of view:
- technology and equipment companies, energy companies, service providers, planners, developers, financing sector etc.;
- energy research community;
- representatives from public bodies (e.g. EU institutions, national, regional and local governments, energy agencies).
The conference is organized by the OÖ Energiesparverband (ESV), the energy agency of Upper Austria. The agency, which was established by the regional government, drives the energy transition by promoting energy efficiency, renewables and e-mobility.
Claudio Zandonella Callegher from Eurac Research presented a poster on the CERVINO project during the poster session of the conference that lasted throughout the duration of the event.
