Every year on 21 September, we celebrate the European Cooperation Day to remind us that Europe can only reach its maximum potential if the different cultures and economies understand each other. The various Interreg programmes therefore bring together different regions in order to work on challenges such as climate change, social inclusion or migration.
The #ECDay2022 is themed around the European Year of Youth, that is shining a light on the importance of European youth to build a better future. YOUrALPS, one of the projects co-financed by the Interreg Alpine Space programme in 2014-2020, aimed at (re)connecting Youth and Mountain heritage for an inspiring future in the Alps. For this reason, the project developed a new school model to highlight the interdependent environmental and social processes taking place in the Alps. Throughout the project, over 2000 pupils studied the Alps from various perspectives through outdoor activities, new technologies and hands-on projects.
