Terrific news can be published today! On May 31st the platform that was built to collect energy data for the Interreg Alpine Space funded project CERVINO was finally launched. All the relevant stakeholders were invited to join an online meeting at the end of May. The meeting was held in order to support the project partners IRE (Italy), AURA-EE (France), EWO (Germany), EURAC (Italy) and KSSENA (Slovenia) in achieving their key goal: Creating an EneRgy data exchange and VIsualizatioN tOol for the alps. It is aimed that this open-source tool will enable a better design and planning of future EUSALP energy policies and thereby contribute to 2030 & 2050 EU energy and GHG emission targets. Hence, energy experts as well as regional and local authorities were encouraged to attend the meeting and learn about the usage and the functionalities of the Alpine energy platform. Further, the CERVINO project partners intended to remind the local and economic actors that their help is considered indispensable within the process of collecting energy data and improve the existing Energy Survey structure. The project strives to improve the EUSALP Energy Survey which was implemented in 2017 and updated in 2019. According to that, the project partners depend on a comprehensive collaboration of all the involved actors and an extended implementation of data.
Fortunately, the response to the online event was extremely positive and the number of participants (30) exceeded the expectations. The organizers affirmed their satisfaction afterwards. It is therefore to be assumed that the required data can be collected as scheduled. Today, about two weeks later, some registrations have already been made and a pile of numbers have successfully been entered. Selected Energy Experts from Italy, France, Switzerland, Germany, Slovenia, Austria and Liechtenstein are invited to register on the platform. After being authorized by the CERVINO partners, they can start filling in indicators such as energy balance, gross final energy consumption, gross electricity production or energy transition for different time periods until the middle/ end of June. The source of the respective data information is also asked to be provided. Once the required data has been successfully supplied, the CERVINO project partners will start to build/ upgrade the user-friendly tool and create a comprehensive visualization of energy data consumption at a macroregional level. But the project will not be over then: Stakeholders are requested to continue the data implementation beyond their first input. The target is to illustrate past, present and future data on the CERVINO Alpine energy data platform.
